We keep as little as we can, we use it only to get back to you about your job, and we never sell it.

Who we are

Demar & Gavel Ltd, registered in England & Wales, company no. 14538304. Registered office: 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ. We are responsible for the information on this page. To ask us anything about your details, email enquiries@demarandgavel.com or call 07930 511 219.

Asking us for a quote

The form on this site asks for three things: your name, your email address and a message about the work you need. We use them to work out what the job involves and to reply — nothing else.

If we then speak on the phone or by email you will probably give us more — the address of the job, your number, photographs. We keep that with the job because we need it to price the work and turn up at the right place.

We keep enquiries for about a year so we can look back at a conversation, then they go. Where we have actually done the work, we have to keep the invoice for six years because HMRC requires it. That is the one thing we cannot delete on request, and we will tell you if it applies to you.

Counting visits

We use a privacy-friendly analytics tool that counts visits without cookies and without anything that identifies you. It tells us how many people found the site this week. It cannot tell us who they were, and that is exactly why we chose it.

The website server

Our server keeps a short record of requests made to the site, including the internet address they came from, and a line for each message sent through the form. We use it to spot someone trying to break in or to flood us with spam, and it is deleted when the site is next updated.

Who else sees any of this

Appy Web Studio, who build and run this website for us, and the email service they use to deliver form messages to our inbox. Both only handle it to provide their service to us. We do not take payments on this website, so no card details ever reach it. Nobody buys this information from us and nobody is given it for marketing.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, and we will do it — apart from the invoices above. You can also tell us to stop using it. Just email or call us; you do not need to explain why, and it costs nothing.

If you are not happy

Tell us first and we will try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
